Other States Recognition

Training Recognized by Other States  05-23-2011

While much of our training is provided within the boundaries of the State of Kansas,

C&M Enterprises recognizes that many individuals are licensed in multiple jurisdictions which may require continuing education that is specifically recognized by said jurisdiction. Within our efforts to be your primary training provider, our continuing education training can be, and in some cases already is, suitable and recognized by multiple jurisdictions outside the State of Kansas. After review of the following information, please contact us if you have any questions with regard to specific jurisdictional recognition.  mike.weaver@candmenterprises.net

Our ongoing plan is to assist in any way we can with your CEU fulfillment requirements.

However, as a license holder, one should remember that you are ultimately personally responsible to each jurisdiction for any CEU requirements mandated by the license issuing jurisdiction. As such, you should always ensure in advance of training that a particular training event will meet these necessary requirements in whole or in part. When attending training for other jurisdictional recognition your photo identification and jurisdictional license information is required.

Arkansas:

C&M Enterprises is a recognized education provider by the Board of Electrical Examiners for the State of Arkansas for various specific continuing education courses. Arkansas recognizes CEU training by the specific training topic and the definitive training date and location. All of C&M Enterprise’s training dates are not routinely submitted to the State of Arkansas. While specific training programs are recognized, training dates must be submitted in advance of training. Where training has been submitted and is recognized by the State of Arkansas, this will be noted for the specific event on our website. For Arkansas recognized training events the necessary paperwork for Arkansas recognition will be available at the training event. Generally, CEU certificates are e-mailed to attendees upon training completion and the necessary Arkansas paperwork (to ensure your CEU recognition) is forwarded to the Arkansas Board of Electrical Examiners by C&M Enterprises.

Colorado:

The state of Colorado’s Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) and the Colorado State Electrical Board do not regulate, endorse or approve continuing education providers or their training programs (this was confirmed by direct communication).  However, continuing education coursework can be counted toward your Professional Development Units (PDUs) as part of your Personal Learning Plan for the State of Colorado. This information can be found in the Continuing Competency Manual for Colorado Electricians published by the Colorado State Electrical Board. C&M Enterprise’s training programs, in multiple formats, will be suitable for Colorado PDUs necessary for one’s individual Continuing Competency Activities. If you are attending training and desire Colorado recognized PDUs for your Continuing Competency Activities, you should notify us so that we can prepare a completion certificate which recognizes and defines your continuing education attendance by the four core competency areas (grounding and bonding, Code changes, wiring methods, and theory and calculations)  and the number of recognized PDUs identified by the Colorado State Electrical Board.

Iowa:

C&M Enterprises has submitted all of our training topics to the state of Iowa for pre-approval of Iowa recognized CEUs. Iowa has recognized and pre-approved almost all of C&M Enterprise’s training topics and multiple time formats as Code based under our Iowa provider number: 2011-029. If you are attending training and desire Iowa recognized CEUs you must notify us in advance of training so that we will have the necessary Iowa paperwork on hand at the training event to comply with the State of Iowa’s CEU requirements.

Kansas:

The State of Kansas has mandated continuing education for electrical journeyman and master license holders. While Kansas has no state-wide electrical license, this mandate impacts all jurisdictions within Kansas which issue such licenses. This makes each individual jurisdiction responsible for the recognition and approval of CEUs for their respective license holders. The quantity of necessary CEUs (regulated as contact hours) can vary by jurisdiction and license type. In order to relieve the burden of individual jurisdictional verification of suitable continuing education providers, and their respective training programs, three organizations have surfaced which regulate CEU providers and their training programs. Virtually every Kansas license issuing jurisdiction recognizes providers, and their programs, from at least one of the three provider regulating organizations. C&M enterprises submits all of their publically offered training programs to all three noted organizations in advance. For attendees, this ensures that your CEUs will be recognized by virtually every license issuing municipality within Kansas. This can be especially important when obtaining reciprocal licenses for other Kansas jurisdictions.
